WBOH - The Tobacco Pirate

Psychological Warfare was one of the key weapons in the Cold War of the 1950s. In 1958 Radio Moscow had the idea to demoralize teenage DXers in the West by taking away Santa Claus. (It's not known why they thought teenagers still believed in Santa.) This card claims to depict Santa's sleigh which had been captured by brave Soviet soldiers who discovered he was carrying illicit equipment for tuning in Radio Free Europe and Radio Liberty. The account on the back went on to state that Rudolph had made a delicious roast before they shipped Santa and remaining reindeer off to Siberia. A second card issued six months later depicted several emaciated reindeer standing around a recently dug grave.
