The origin of the Famous DXer Trading Cards is one of the great mysteries in historical DX humor. The most plausible story holds that tens of thousands of these were printed by Uncle Harold's DXpedition Beanie-Weenies in the early 1990s. Supposedly the cards were encased in vinyl envelopes and then inserted in cans of their beanie-weenies. However, the acidity of the bean sauce totally disolved the vinyl envelope and enclosed cardboard trading card. This was around the same time that Uncle Harold's product line began tasting a lot better. Company spokesmen, however, refuse to confirm any of this. (Although they do have a hard time holding in the laughter when asked about it.)
Here at BLANDX HQ, we have been fortunate to obtain a complete mint set of the trading cards by means which we would rather not divulge. We present them here for your enjoyment.
